Welcome to Wetlands Apiary!

We are a group of Backyard Beekeepers who research, study, and teach various queen rearing techniques.

We provide Queen bees, Spring Nucs, and hold Workshops on Queen rearing (we do not sell bee supplies).
Workshops tend to fill up quickly, but you can still sign up to be on the waiting list.

Wetlands Apiary is located in the Plymouth / Norfolk County area in Massachusetts.

Workshop Information

Putting together a NUC Colony

  • Choose a strong overwintered colony
  • Locate 3 frames of brood and 2 frames of Pollen and Nectar for the NUC.
  • If you locate the queen, use a clip to confine her until you are ready to put everything back (most importantly, keep her out of the NUC)
