Welcome to Wetlands Apiary!

At Wetlands Apiary, we are a group of passionate backyard beekeepers dedicated to advancing queen rearing techniques through research, education, and hands-on workshops.


We provide high quality Queen bees, Spring Nucs, and comprehensive workshops designed to enhance your beekeeping skills.

We do not sell bee supplies


NOTE: The 2027 Workshop format will be changing. We will be holding 1 to 2 day workshops (instead of the 4 day formats) with various subjects.

Located in the Plymouth / Norfolk County area of Massachusetts, we are committed to supporting local beekeepers and fostering a thriving apiary community.  Join us to learn, share, and grow your beekeeping knowledge with expert guidance.

Putting together a NUC Colony

  • Choose a strong overwintered colony
  • Locate 3 frames of brood and 2 frames of Pollen and Nectar for the NUC.
  • If you locate the queen, use a clip to confine her until you are ready to put everything back (most importantly, keep her out of the NUC)
