Workshops consist of four sessions. Each session will be scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday.
SESSION ONE
- introduction to the Cloake Board method
- Learn how Brother Adam, Jay Smith and Michael Palmer all used the same technique to start queen cells
- Snelgrove board method
- How to make up a mating nuc with live bees and install a queen cell
- Identify the proper size larvae / age
- You graft with instruction
SESSION TWO
- Students will bring a mating nuc to class, inspect the mating nuc, and install a queen cell
- Cloake board method
- Snelgrove board techniques
- You graft with instruction

- Setting up a cell starter (Adam-Smith-Palmer)
- C.C. Miller method
- Cell punch technique
- Cloake board review
- Student nuc inspections - queen emergence - finding eggs
- marking the queen - evaluate laying pattern
SESSION FOUR
